Point Nepean Visitor Centre

Location: Portsea, Victoria
Client: Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation

The brief for this project was to repurpose an unused visitor centre in the Point Nepean National Park as the future Bunurong Interpretation Centre. The Bunurong Interpretation Centre is to provide a facility on Country in which the Bunurong community can gather, undertake cultural practices, share knowledge and skills, and pursue community development activities. It also provides a base for Bunurong people to tell their story to the wider world.

Our challenge was to reconfigure the existing plan to provide appropriate spaces for cultural heritage to be displayed, interpreted and promoted to visitors, students, researchers and the Victorian community as part of the experience of the National Park.
